VOLUNTEER

Ubuntu wants to offer you the ultimate learning experience. Participants in this program will be challenged professionally and personally and asked to step out of their comfort-zone. Participants will collaborate with local professionals, lead sessions and interventions, and dive into the rich, music culture of our hosts.

 

Ubuntu prides itself on developing a comprehensive, interdisciplinary team. If you have a music background, a caring heart, a passion for community service, a curiosity about music therapy and wish to make the world a better place, you are a candidate for the team.

Team members have included: Board Certified Music Therapists, Music Therapy Students, Community Musicians, and Child Health Specialists

WHAT WILL WE DO?
INTERESTED?

By joining the team and coming on the trip you contribute to the following purpose:

  • Support the mission to bring music for health and healing to children and adults in East Africa

  • Sharing clinical music techniques with local musicians

  • Providing direct music therapy services to help children and adults to emote, express and create.

  • Expand understanding of the universal effectiveness of music therapy.

  • To create an on-going and self-sustaining program utilizing the skills and abilities of local musicians who will continue the work.

HOW WILL WE DO IT?

We do this by:

  • Applying music therapy experiences in an international setting

  • Engaging in music and lifestyle based cultural exchange with the host communities

  • Collaborating and leading music therapy based trainings with local musicians

  • Developing meaningful relationships with local facilities and organizations
